I love you, but. Yes, there’s a but.
I just received an email reminding me that my domain is about to expire. And I have been thinking about how I want to proceed with this blog moving forward – should I renew this blog or not?
You see, I’ve been enjoying my offline life for 3 years now. I hardly update my socials, I don’t overshare, and I deactivated my Threads (which is my favorite place to overshare, btw). Whenever I try to post (again) and share my life online, I find myself deleting them hours later because I was so uncomfortable knowing that I shared a piece of my life online. It’s crazy to think that 95% of my Facebook friends are people whom I know personally, and I recently removed 50% of my Instagram followers. But still, I am not really okay with sharing my life online anymore.
… I am happy with my journal (way before journaling became a trend the past couple of months) – your girl is an OG journal writer.
And so I am thinking… should I stop blogging? I looooove blogging. Blogging is my lover. And it pains me to even think about letting go of blogging, my first love.
But how do you balance privacy in the age of digital dependency?
How do you protect your personal life from something as exposed as blogging?
How do you choose the pieces of your life that you’re comfortable to share to strangers?
And if you’re not comfortable at all, what else is there that you can write about in your life?
